eNFS/Cache [Netstream, Inc]

eNFS/Cache allows NFS clients to build disk caches of frequently useddata for access at a future time. eNFS/Cache saves file data, symboliclinks and directory information on the clients local disk. These cachesare completely transparent to the user and may be chosen on a mount-pointby mount-point basis. A typical cache of 50Mb of disk space will resultin approximately 90% of all NFS reads being executed locally withoutaccessing the server.System Administrators wishing to free local disk space can move /usr andother directories to the server and allow eNFS/Cache to populate itslocal disk cache as needed.In a busy network, eNFS/Cache reduces the amount of network traffic byreducing the number of client reads. Users of eNFS/Cache will benefitfrom reducing server and network load.
